One of my favorite things about my neighbourhood: Burke Mountain's Little Free Library

Blog by Team Aragon | July 3rd, 2014

Last Saturday, we were invited to a client’s World Cup party at Farrington Park which is walking distance from our house.

We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon with our client’s friend and neighbours; had some food, drinks and we played a great game of Football (soccer) or as our Spanish client’s call it Futbol J in the fenced-in floor Hockey rink on the park. We played kids vs parents and we had an incredible time kicking the ball around as most of us have been bitten by the World Cup bug.

After our little football tourney on our way back home, I came across one of my favorite things about Burke Mountain: The Little Free Library!

There are 2 of these on Burke Mountain and it just creates an amazing feel for what our neighbourhood stands for: community!

This idea was created by the folks at www.littlefreelibrary.org and they have had so much success, please click here for the location of all these libraries across the world: http://littlefreelibrary.org/ourmap/

Wesbuild has donated these 2 for Burke Mountain and you can find out more about it here: http://www.thefoothillsatburke.com/about/little-free-library/

I couldn’t help myself so I picked a book to read and made a promise to myself to bring it back and drop an extra one so we can continue to develop our community and share our great books.

This is one of the many, many things we love about Burke Mountain and our great neighbourhood!
