Brewers Row, Murray Street in Port Moody

What’s all the fuss about down on Murray Street? Well if you are into craft beer you will definitely want to come down for a visit and find out for yourself. Three breweries have opened on the street since 2014. Yellow Dog, Moody Ales and most recently Twin Sails. There is a fourth set to open any day now called Parkside Brewing.

Each of them has their own charms and their own special brews. Some have patios to sit out on and have a pint after a walk or bike around Rocky Point Park which is perfect in the summer. Others have more inside seating which is fantastic in the winter when you want to pop in for a Stout on a cold day.

We always love it when a food truck shows up and we can nosh on some tasty food of whatever cuisine showed up that day. If you follow Moody Ales on Facebook or Twitter they will announce which truck will be there for the day which is handy if you are hoping for something in particular. They have also introduced an open mic night for music lovers if you’d like to check that out.

Each breweries line of beers is always evolving and they keep it fresh by introducing new brews. You will definitely want to pick up a selection of growlers to go back and fill up time and again.

In the Tri-Cities, only Port Moody has the right bylaw zoning necessary for breweries. And in Port Moody, Murray Street is the only area that carries that particular zoning. The community is full of young families who are eager to support local business so their success makes sense. It is also great to see once abandoned buildings now flourishing and giving a new life to the street.  So don’t be surprised if you see more breweries opening up on Brewery Row in the future.
